Profil Soke Kiyotada Sannosuke Ueshima


Pendiri KUSHIN RYU Karate Do adalah Kiyotada Sannosuke Ueshima yang lahir pada tahun 1893 di wilayah Hyogo (Kobe) , di Kota Akou - Jepang.
Setelah berusia 3 tahun ia mulai belajar seni beladiri (aliran Konshin Yujoyutsu) di Akademi Matsubara di Kota Akou dibawah bimbingan guru Kiyotaka Kajei Matsubara.

Menginjak usia 9 tahun ia mulai mengenal Tuan Sugaya atau Jigaya. Seorang pegawai kepolisian di kota Akou, ia seorang penduduk asli Okinawa. Dari dialah Ueshima mulai belajar bentuk-bentuk Karate Kata Channan dan Kata Kushanku (Kata Channan merupakan dasar Kata Pian yang diciptakan Ankou Itosu , salah satu kata orisinil yang dikembangkan dan dirubah menjadi KATA PIAN).

Pada tahun 1918, saat berusia 25 tahun, Ueshima menerima gelar secara serempak sebagai ahli aliran Konshin Yujoyitsu dari tangan Guru Matsubara dan guru Guikyo Masazi Akada sebagai Guru terakhirnya dan juga guru dari Matsubara sendiri.

Kemudian, Ueshima pindah ke kota Osaka, disana ia mulai membuka Akademi Konshin – Ryu Yujoyitsu.

Pada dekade awal abad ke 20, beberapa guru karate tiba di Okinawa di kota Osaka, bersama-sama mereka, Ueshima mempelajari dan mempraktikan cabang beladiri ini .

Mereka adalah :

1, Choki Motobu, mengajar Aliran Tomari-Ja .
2, Kanamori Kinzyo, mengajar aliran Shorin and Goju.
3, Choshin Chibana, pendiri dan guru aliran Shorin .

Pada tahun 1932 Ueshima mendirikan Aliran Karate Kushin Ryu, ini merupakan hasil dari penggabungan aliran Konshin-Ryu Yujoyitsu dengan unsur-unsur Karate yang ia tambahkan didalamnya.

Pada tahun 1895 Organisasi Beladiri Jepang yang pertama didirikan disebut Dai Nippon Butokukai (Great Japan Martial Virtue Association).

Pada tahun 1933, Ueshima menerima gelar Guru JUDO (KYOSHI) dari Association of Martial Virtue of the Great Japan.

Juga pada tahun 1935 dan untuk pertama kalinya di Jepang, Dewan Asosisasi Beladiri Jepang yang terhormat menganugerahi dia gelar Guru Karate (KYOSHI) dengan dua orang lainnya. Para guru yang menerima tanda kehormatan pada kesempatan itu adalah :

1, Choyun Miyagi ( Pendiri aliran Goju )
2, Kiyotada Sannosuke Ueshima ( Pendiri Aliran Kushin )
3, Yasuhiro Konishi ( Pendiri Aliran Shindo Shizen)

Pada tahun 1946 akhir yaitu perang Dunia ke II terjadi pembubaran Dai Nippon Butokukai (Great Japan Martial Virtue Association)

Pada tahun 1965, beliau menerima gelar Dan 8 Judo Kodokan, Guru Kanamori Kinzyo , guru aliran Shorin dan Goju dan Guru karate Ueshima, kembali ke Okinawa disana dan ia mengembangkan Aliran Kushin.

Pada tahun 1940 Guru Kinzyo menerima gelar Guru Karate (RENSHI) dari Dai Nippon Butokukai (Great Japan Martial Virtue Association)

Pada tanggal 6 September 1987, pada usia 94 tahun, Kiyotada Sannosuke Ueshima, pendiri Kushin Ryu, meninggalkan para murid untuk selama-lamanya di kota Osaka. Saat ini President (Soke) kedua Kushin Ryu saat ini dipimpin oleh Ph. Dr HORYUU MATSUZAKI.
